CESC Fabregas has emerged as Louis van Gaal’s top summer target and new Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has done nothing to damp down speculation that a deal will be done.
“Cesc? We are not getting into all the individual names now,” said Enrique when asked about Fabregas and a reported €40m offer from Old Trafford.
“We do not have to make decisions now, we have time.”
However, when pushed to clarify stories suggesting that Javier Mascherano is pondering a move, new Barca boss Enrique immediately suggested that the former midfielder would make a great Barcelona captain, making it very clear where his priorities lie.
“He has all the qualities to be captain. There will be changes, we’ll strengthen the team, good and important players will stay.”
Enrique was also quick to suggest Neymer is staying out.
“Neymar obviously one of the most important players in the team, was a big investment by the club and I’m happy to have him.”
