Temp Head - Manchester United boss David Moyes

Manchester United boss David Moyes felt his side produced their best display of his reign to date in a hugely satisfying win over Arsenal.

Robin van Persie scored against his old club as United overcame the Premier League leaders 1-0 in a tense clash at Old Trafford.

The result lifted United to fifth in the table and within five points of the Londoners in spite of the difficulties new manager Moyes has encountered.

Asked if that was his best performance, Moyes said: "Yes, especially in the first half. A resilient job was required in the last 20 minutes but overall it was a good three points against a very much in-form Arsenal team.

"It's another step in the right direction for us. We have got a lot of big steps to take here and it is going to take a while for me to get it all the way I'd like it to be. I am not singing and dancing because we won the game, but I am thrilled because the boys put in a great performance."
