BALLYMUN KICKHAMS

THIS week's hero of the week is Jack Nolan from our under-11s team. See his team report below. Our under-10s had great competitive games against Whitehall on Saturday with one win and a loss. All played well, but the stand out players were Alex Matthews and Cian Fahey, well done everyone and training is on Wednesday again. Our under-11s had a fine day out on Saturday away to Wanderers, with a massive win, but the stand out player, star man, and club hero of the week, is the aforementioned Jack Nolan. Jack climbed to the summit today, with an incredible contribution of three goals and a point for his team in a wonderful display. Take a bow Jack, this week's club hero of the week. Our under-14s had a training week, and it culminated with a game v the under-15s, with who, the lads were training all week. The league resumes next week with a game against Whitehall at home. The big news this week though, is the addition to management of Kevin Leahy and Allan Hubbard. Here's to their experience having as significant an impact on the lads, as they do on the field of play. Our minors won on Sunday also, pulling away with 10 to go for a great win over Thomas Ashe. Good performances from Kevin Kelly, Ryan Swift and Fionn Andrews, allied with two superb points from corner-back David Bolger, meant the lads won their 2nd league game. Training Monday night at 8pm, and a challenge against Dunshaughlin at 8pm on Wednesday. All support welcome. With less than 2 weeks to go to our senior All Ireland club final appearance, the club is gearing up for the big day. The Mace on Glasnevin avenue has various pieces of merchandise for sale and will have increased stock soon, with supporters tee shirts and wrist bands all coming soon, to supplement the already existing stock of flags, scarves, car flags etc. We urge you to decorate your house in support of the local heroes, and add to the explosion of red and green that the area has seen in recent days. We would also like to thank BRL who are assisting us in decorating the Ballymun town centre for the big day. Ticket prices are €25 for adult and €5 for under 16's and can be purchased online at GAA.ie or from certain Centra and Supervalu shops (list is available on GAA.ie). Thank you to everyone involved in the ticket sales night in the Autobahn last Friday in particular, Dermot McMahon, and to Eoin Roche, Darren Fitzpatrick and Dave Power for erecting flags in the locality over the last week. Terrific job lads. On the subject of our seniors, they had a fine win on Sunday over St Vincent's in the cup by a score of 4-15 to 1-9. The members and friends all send best wishes to Gerry Dolan for a speedy recovery. For more info please visit our website www.ballymunkickhams.com

THE overall work-rate and a great team performance proved too much for local club Naomh Barróg on Sunday morning, when our Minor footballers beat them by two points. Alongside Graham as outstanding players, were; Andrew Farrell, Eoghan Darcy, Lee Harris & Luke Myers. Well done to our up and coming superstar U9's who showed great potential on Saturday in their home games. What a start to the Hurling league our U14 boys had over the weekend, when they won away to St Peregrine's. Our U16 hurlers were unlucky to have been beaten in their first match of the season on Saturday. The team pulled together and worked like Trojans. ST PATRICK'S, DONABATE

IT was a busy week in Pats with so many of our teams playing at home at the weekend. The weather stayed calm and we were lucky to have so many spectators for all our games. Many thanks to all who came down to cheer on the Black n Greens. The U9 boys played three interesting games against visiting Sylvester's. There were some very impressive individual and team performances, which saw Pats wining the first encounter, losing the second and battling back from behind to win the third fixture. In the immortal words of Meatloaf - 2 outta 3 ain't bad!Our u10 boys took on Round Tower Lusk early on Saturday morning hoping to make it 3-in-a-row for this season. It was an excellent match to watch in terms of ability and skill. Whereas it looked as though our boys would break through and hold the lead, Lusk raised their game and took the win. Our u11s boys had a great performance against Round Towers Clondalkin with both Pats teams coming away with the wins 12-13 to 4-05 and 9-10 to 1-02. They're looking forward to their next grading games. Our u15 Girls took to the road and headed for Howth. The trip was definitely worthwhile as they came away with a superb season-starting victory! Our u9 boys acted as mascots for the Senior Team's first home game. Check out our website for some great pictures. We've high hopes for our 2004 boys and indeed the Senior Team were very impressed with the display of football the boys gave at half time. Sunday wasn't the best day in Ballamastone with only our Junior Team taking victory. Our Senior Squad lost out to Fingal Ravens in the AIB Cup. The Hurlers were unlucky to lose in extra time and our u12 girls were beaten despite a rousing performance by St Anne's.
