Dubs in Wars at Olympia!THE Dublin hurlers were at The Olympia last Friday night for The All-Stars Wars, a cracking show where Junior 'B' hurler, Hugh Cullen, goes on to slay the mighty Cat Commandos.
Marty Morrissey was also in the audience watching himself, 'Smarty' Morrissey, on stage. It was a laugh-a-minute production with memorable features on Davy Fitz, Cork's Seán óg, King Henry, Michael Lyster and the Sunday Game crew, who included Squirrel Farrell, plus many more icons of the hurling world.
There were also sketches on the quick Sunday morning mass before catching the bus to the Munster final in Thurles. But one joke saw the Dubs pulling hard in their seats.
"What's the difference between the Dublin hurling jersey and a school uniform? You are always sure to see the school uniform in September."
Always, the bitter word or the unkind sideline cut. This year, like last, the laugh could well be on the other cheek!
The Local Lotto crew remind all Dublin clubs that they are holding a free seminar at the Citywest Hotel this Friday (7.30pm to 9.30pm) and Saturday (9.30am to 11.30am), where they will outline the benefits of the online system in raising funds and communicating with members.
