Star duo close to return

•SEAMUS McEnaney expects attacking frontliners Joe Sheridan and Cian Ward to be available for their Allianz Football League Division 2 opener with Monaghan on February 5th, writes Conor McKeon.

•Neither featured in their three-game O'Byrne Cup run but McEnaney insisted both were back in full training and would be fit to face his own county in Páirc Tailteann in two weeks.

•"Cian Ward and Joe Sheridan are back into full training but Cian was out with a bug and we just didn't want to risk him," he revealed. "Joe's just not ready yet."

•Navan midfielder Mark Ward was substituted for the second time in two games due to an ankle injury but McEnaney was insistent that both he and player/selector Graham Geraghty would be available, despite the latter not making any appearance against DCU.

•"Mark Ward will be OK. He went over on his ankle but it should be fine.

"Graham hurt his back in training on Thursday night and we weren't prepared to risk him tonight. He will be back training on Tuesday night."
