Sheffield United have completed a double swoop for Lee Evans and James Wilson.

Midfielder Evans joins from Wolves for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half year deal while Manchester United striker Wilson has signed on loan for the rest of the season.

The pair have signed after Ryan Leonard joined the Blades from Southend on Tuesday.

Boss Chris Wilder said: "Lee is a great age with his best years ahead of him. We've watched him and monitored his progress for a while and we're delighted to get him permanently.

"He is a young international, he fits in with what we're about and is an excellent player who we hope will add further depth and competition to our midfield.

"James has a fantastic pedigree, having come through the ranks at Manchester United and, importantly, has some good Championship experience.

"He says he is raring to go and is the fittest he has ever been, so couple that with his undoubted ability and desire to impress, then I'm sure he will improve the group."

Evans had been on loan at Wigan this season having joined Wolves from Newport in 2013 while Wilson, who scored twice on his United debut against Hull in 2014, has not played for the Red Devils since 2015.

Wilson's contract is due to run out in the summer of 2019 and the 22-year-old has seen loan service at Brighton and Derby County since making his United four years ago.
