Walker 'thrilled' to seal £45m City transfer
Kyle Walker has joined Manchester City from Tottenham on a five-year deal worth an initial £45m.
Pep Guardiola's side agreed a fee with Spurs for the 27-year-old England star which could rise to £50m if the add-on clauses are met.
Walker's agency, Base Soccer, claimed that their client commanded: "a record fee for a defender and record fee for an English player" - potentially surpassing the £47.5m City paid Everton for centre-back John Stones.
Walker's arrival takes City's summer spending beyond the £100m mark after the captures of playmaker Bernardo Silva and keeper Ederson.
"I am thrilled to be signing for City," said Walker. "Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level."
