Villa will not be keeping Keane
ROBBIE KEANE will return to Los Angeles at the end of next month after Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish ruled out any attempt to make the Irish captain's move permanent.
McLeish insists Villa are no nearer to extending Keane's loan stay.
The LA Galaxy ace marked his full Villa debut with a double in a 3-2 Premier League win over Wolves a week ago.
McLeish stated after that Molineux win that he'd be keen to retain the Irishman if Keane was interested.
Keane has joined the Midlands outfit until February 25 and McLeish says, as things stand, the 31-year-old will be on a plane back to Los Angeles.
"Have we done anything about extending Keane's stay? No, his parent club is LA Galaxy and there is an agreement in place," said McLeish. "We said if Robbie could come and give everyone a boost, get a couple of goals, make a difference in the other games, then great. But that's it."
Keane is set to line up alongside Darren Bent when Aston Villa take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow, after which he will have only three more games to play.
