United linked with £173m Neymar bid
Neymar has become a priority target for Manchester United and the amount of money the club is prepared to offer the Brazilian and Barcelona is described as 'dizzy'.
Neymar signed a five-year contract with Barca in October but a report in Barcelona state that United have discussed a possible £173million move with the Olympic gold medallist's representatives. Neymar's buyout clause stands at €200m.
The report also alleges Jose Mourinho has spoken with Neymar about a possible summer switch just two years after United's infamous attempt to sign the 25-year-old.
Ed Woodward was spotted aboard a plane to Barcelona amid the expectation the club would sign Pedro but he instead explored the possibility of signing Brazil poster boy Neymar.
Mourinho said last month he would not attempt to sign unattainable players during the summer transfer window. "I know the players I want," he said. "Of course at the start it is about the quality of the players we want but sooner or later it has to end in the players we want.
"I try always to be objective and not to participate in trying to bring in players that are impossible. I am not going to tell Mr. Woodward and Mr. Glazers 'bring me Messi'. Do not spend the time until August 31. So I am always objective.
"I know exactly what I want. I know what I want is possible. But we are in February we have so many matches to play, so many trophies to fight for."
