PLAYER power or just tired legs? Giovanni Trapattoni cancelled training for today following Aiden McGeady's plea for less work but it is certain that he is more worried about Shay Given than a mini-mutiny.
Given is struggling again with his calf injury and cut a forlorn figure during Ireland's first session in the superb Gydnia training base.
While Keiren Westwood did some light work, Given was ordered to rest and he will be assessed daily from now until Saturday, when Trapattoni will make a decision.
McGeady's suggestion that Trap needed to ease back on the intensity was first rejected as a "psychological" issue. But within hours, Trapattoni binned his schedule and gave the players time to unwind.
They will resume tomorrow and all eyes will once again be focused on Given to see if he can shake off an injury which is threatening his participation in Euro 2012.
