Trap going to Ivory Coast
GIOVANNI Trapattoni (pictured)insists that he is about to be installed as the new manager of the Ivory Coast.
Out of work since he left his job as Ireland boss 10 months ago, Trap has been linked with a number of coaching roles but the 75-year-old claims that he's on his way to the Ivory Coast, who are keen to rebuild after their poor showing at the World Cup in Brazil.
"I'm going to become the new Ivory Coast coach; everything will be official in a couple of weeks," Trap was quoted as saying on Italian radio. "Morocco offered me a job too but I took 48 hours for myself and eventually chose Ivory Coast."
Trap's assistant with Ireland, Marco Tardelli, has also been out of the game since leaving the FAI, Tardelli currently doing TV work in Italy.
