A goal in each have paved the way for Wolfe Tone to win the WDSL U10 Division 2 Shield.

Avonmore were going for a double having won the U10 Division 2 (Enniskerry SFC) Cup.

But suffered a third defeat in the Shield competition to their Bray opponents on Wednesday May 30 at the Woodlands in Greystones having lost 6-2 and 1-0 in the group stages.

Despite the Rathdrum team's goalkeeper Paddy Byrne playing well, there was nothing he could do to prevent the 'Youth Club taking the lead midway through the first period.

Adam Byrne burst from the halfway line and beat two players before crashing in a fierce drive from 12-yards.

And in the second half, Callum Leggett evaded a challenge when cutting in off the left flank before unleashing a shot to the roof of the net.

A Ben Jones brace of goal helped Enniskerry clinch the WDSL Under 11 Division 4 Shield.

It was the fifth meeting between the team's in all competitions this season, with the Red's and White's staying unbeaten with their third Shield win over their Bray rivals at the Woodlands in Greystones .

Jones made the decisive breakthrough the middle after 20 minutes with a fine finish.

Colin Molloy then doubled that lead on the stroke of half time.

Jones notched their third after the interval, this time with a precise left footed effort.

To their credit, Wolfe Tone rallied late on.

And pulled one back when a corner fell to Jack Walsh on the edge of the box to rifle to the net.

And they ensured a dramatic late ending when Andrew Crocker's corner was diverted into his own net by an Enniskerry player.
