Ten-man Shels frustrate Pat's

Despite having only 10 men for the closing 25 minutes of the match, Shelbourne managed to defy St Pat's attacks and garner a 1-1 draw after Glenn Cronin's sending off.

Shels provided the first real example of quality, with Brendan McGill striking a wonderful volley from 30 yards in the 23rd minute which rebounded off the crossbar and then into the net off the back of the Pat's 'keeper, Brendan Clarke.

Chris Fagan struck an equaliser in the 44th minute.

Drogheda United continued their remarkable start to the season with this fully deserved 2-0 victory over Derry City at Hunky Dorys Park.

A goal in each half from Ryan Brennan and Brian Gannon proved enough against a disappointing Candystripes side.

UCD made it seven victories from their last nine games at the Belfield Bowl with goals from Daniel Ledwith, Cillian Morrison and Paul O'Conor sealing a 3-2 win over Monaghan, for whom Conor Murphy and Jordan Keegan were on target.

And Jason Byrne struck with 16 minutes left to earn Bray a point at Turner's Cross following Tadhg Purcell's early goal for the Leesiders.
