A Leeds United fan is so confident they will win the Championship play-offs that he's had it tattooed on himself.

Jamie Richardson, from West Yorkshire, had the inking done on his shoulder ahead of Leeds' semi-final against Derby County.

It reads: "Leeds United 2019 Championship Playoff winners."

"We'll absolutely rip them to bits," he insisted, predicting a 3-0 win over the Rams this evening.

The tattoo also reads "in Bielsa we trust", and Richardson backs the Argentine to steer the Whites into the Premier League.

"Marcelo Bielsa has come in, changed everything about the club from top to bottom," he said.

He doesn't have a ticket, but Richardson will travel to Derby today for the first leg.

But his predictions haven't always come off. Last summer he had another tattoo done: "England 2018 World Cup winners."

Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Dean Smith will be inspired by Liverpool and Spurs' Champions League heroics in his team's promotion bid.

They host West Brom in today's first leg of the Championship play-off semi-final.

Villa were beaten finalists, losing 1-0 to Fulham last year, and finished fifth this season after a club record of 10 straight wins.

Liverpool beat Barcelona 4-0 after being 3-0 down in the Champions League semi-final first leg, while Tottenham came back from 3-0 down on aggregate against Ajax to draw 3-3 and reach the final on away goals.

Villa go to The Hawthorns for the second leg on Tuesday and Smith knows regardless of what happens today, the tie will not be finished.

"We've seen with Spurs and Liverpool that it's never over," said the Villa Park boss. "There will still be something to play for, whether it's 0-0 or 3-0 when we go there.

"We have great belief in our squad and this team. We've got six or seven players who can change a game.

"The run we've had these last few months has been purely down to that team ethic."
