SVEN GORAN Eriksson has told Sean St Ledger to prove that he's worthy of a place in the Leicester City team.
St Ledger has admitted that his time at Leicester has become a "nightmare" as he's played just one league game this season and was unable to even make the bench for their last five games.
But a red card to centre-half Matt Mills last week means he'll serve a suspension and that has opened the door for St Ledger, who had stated his intention to seek a loan move but will now instead stay at the club as Eriksson has ruled out a loan.
"It is up to St Ledger now," said Eriksson.
"We can't allow him out on loan. If we could call him back within 24 hours, then okay. But you can't do that for the first month so it is out of the question, and I don't think now he wants to go out on loan.
"He has been very good for Ireland and is a good centre-half, so we are covered."
