Northern Ireland got off to the winning start their Euro 2020 campaign so badly needs against Estonia at Windsor Park last night.

Niall McGinn's 56th minute strike took the pressure off Michael O'Neill's men after Paddy McNair had missed a gilt-edged first half chance.

Northern Ireland were on the front foot from the start against the minnows of Group C. McGinn had a chance inside two minutes but cut across his shot at the far post to drag it wide.

After George Saville sent a low free-kick into the wall, Paddy McNair missed a header from point-blank range, watching his downward header somehow bounce back up and over the bar from Jones' lofted cross.

McGinn, however, was on hand to blast home a loose ball from 15 yards ball after a dominant re-start.

The North were then awarded a penalty for a foul on Saville on 72 minutes, with Steven Davis firing home from the spot.
