Sheridan new Fleetwood manager
Fleetwood have announced the appointment of former Ireland international John Sheridan as their new head coach.
The Sky Bet League One side parted company with Uwe Rosler following last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Doncaster, with Barry Nicholson taking charge for the midweek loss to Portsmouth.
Sheridan, 53, has signed a deal until the end of the season - a move which "suits both parties" according to Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley.
He told the club's official website: "John is exactly the sort of character we need at Fleetwood Town in the current situation.
"He has a proven track record of having an instant impact with clubs and we are confident that will be the case here.
"John is here until the end of the season, at which point we'll review the situation again, it's an agreement which suits both parties at this time."
Sheridan has previously managed Oldham, Chesterfield, Plymouth, Newport and Notts County.
