Sheppard to stay at Hoops
SHAMROCK Rovers have extended striker Karl Sheppard's loan deal from Reading until the end of the season.
Sheppard's deal was due to run out this month but manager Trevor Croly has persuaded the Dubliner to stay as the Hoops mount a challenge for the Premier Division title.
Another Rovers forward, Ciaran Kilduff, has been sent out on loan to fellow Premier Division outfit Cork City for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, former St Patrick's Athletic midfielder Derek Doyle will make a return to the League of Ireland with Shelbourne.
Doyle, who has signed for the Reds from Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United, last played in the Premier Division for the Saints in 2011, and having previously played for Shelbourne in 2009, will be no stranger to the surroundings at Tolka Park.
Shels boss John McDonnell has also signed goalkeeper Lee Murphy from all-conquering junior side Sheriff YC.
Dundalk, meanwhile, have secured the signature of 21-year-old winger Jordan Keegan, after the Dubliner had his contract cancelled at St Patrick's Athletic by mutual consent.
