Maurizio Sarri believes Gonzalo Higuain will succeed at Chelsea if the striker stays for a second Premier League season.

Chelsea boss Sarri wants to keep the on-loan Juventus forward at Stamford Bridge next term, despite the Blues remaining subject to a FIFA two- window transfer ban.

Higuain (31) has three goals in 11 Chelsea games and will cost 36million Euros to sign permanently.

Sarri said: "It's not easy in the first months to play in the Premier League. It was a problem for Luis Suarez at Liverpool. In his first season he scored four goals - in the second he scored 17.

"It's not easy for a striker to play immediately well in the Premier League. He has time for improvement."
