Samaras brushes off Lennon claim
Georgios Samaras insists he took no notice when manager Neil Lennon claimed earlier in the season that he was the type of player who could get him fired as Celtic boss.
At the club's AGM in October, with the Hoops trailing Rangers by 10 points, Lennon defended his decision to persevere with the Greek who was yet again under-fire from the fans but admitted that Samaras was "a player who could ultimately get me the sack".
The striker has since been key in Celtic's turnaround in form and perhaps for the first time he appears to be winning fans over.
Ahead of tomorrow's visit of Motherwell, where victory would see Celtic go 23 points clear of Rangers, Samaras was his usual laid-back self when asked about his reaction to Lennon's comment.
"If I hear positive comments from my manager, team-mates, from you (media) or negative comments from everyone, the supporters, you, the manager, my team-mates, I react the same way," he said. "I just try to stay focused on my game."
