Holders St Patrick's ended their Bray hoodoo to reach the semi-finals of the EA Sports Cup.
The Wicklow side had knocked the Dubliners out of the Leinster Senior Cup (3-1) back in March. And then beat Liam Buckley's men 1-0 in the League last month - both at the Carlisle Grounds.
At the same venue yesterday afternoon, the visitors retained their grasp on the trophy when Mark Timlin's 110th minute cross caught out Peter Cherrie on the wind and dropped in off the back post. The Inchicore side had gone one up in the 53rd minute. Ex-Bray man Graham Kelly pulled the ball back for Billy Dennehy whose first effort was blocked on the line by Sean Harding. But the former Cork City winger blasted in the rebound.
However, the Seagulls hit back to level six minutes later when Connolly cut back inside from the left wing to delightfully chip a stranded Brendan Clarke from 20-yards. The Saints had gone 2-1 up in the 96th minute when substitute Jamie McGrath headed in Ger O'Brien's right wing delivery. But Wanderers levelled for a second time just 22 seconds into the second period though Gareth McDonagh.
