Saints boosted by loan signing of Kinsella
St Patrick's Athletic manager Liam Buckley is excited with the loan signing of Everton teenager Steven Kinsella ahead of this evening's SSE Airtricity League Premier Division trip to face Wexford Youths.
The Saints, who bowed out of Europe recently with a narrow defeat in the Europa League to Belarusian side Dinamo Minsk, are seeking to get their domestic campaign back on track having lost their last four league games on the trot.
But Buckley insists the signing of the 17-year-old Kinsella will bolster his side for the rest of the season.
"Steven will be a great addition to our squad and we're really looking forward to him representing the club," said Buckley.
"There is no doubt that Steven has fantastic ability and is a great talent.
"He has trained with us a little bit and has fitted in well so we're looking forward to seeing him make his first appearance with us."
Kinsella, a son of former St Patrick's Athletic defender Alan Kinsella, is a former youth player of Templeogue United who joined the Toffees in July 2014. Such was Kinsella's ability at an early age that he was fast-tracked up two age levels in international football, making appearances for the Republic of Ireland Under-17s when he was 15 years old.
Elsewhere this evening, Derry City play host to Limerick FC in their EA Sports Cup semi-final clash at the Brandywell.
