Rovers' boss Flynn praises Keegan role

THE FORM of Irish midfielder Paul Keegan has been hailed by Doncaster Rovers boss Brian Flynn.

The former Drogheda United and Bohemians man (above) has been at Doncaster since 2010 but this season has seen the 28-year-old really establish himself in the Rovers midfield as the club mount a promotion push, Doncaster currently sit second in the League One table.

"What you've got with Paul is realism," said Flynn, who took over as manager from Dean Saunders earlier this month.

"I realised it quite a while ago when I saw him play. In Paul you've got a professional footballer who knows his job.

"We've got a few of them out there for us, but Paul is that type of footballer. He's an unsung hero. Everybody needs those sort of players in their team," he added.
