REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo was happy to do his talking on the pitch in the wake of recent comments from Jose Mourinho after scoring twice to lead his side to a 3-1 victory over his former coach's Chelsea.

Ronaldo scored a trademark free-kick and a powerful header to earn Madrid victory in the International Champions Cup final in Miami after Chelsea midfielder Ramires had cancelled out Marcelo's early opener.

The goals will have been particularly sweet for Ronaldo, with Mourinho having claimed towards the end of his turbulent reign as Madrid boss earlier this summer that his compatriot "maybe thinks that he knows everything and that the coach cannot improve him any more".

Mourinho also appeared to make another disparaging remark against his former player during a recent interview, the 50-year-old saying that "the real Ronaldo" was the former Brazil striker, not his fellow Portuguese.

When asked his thoughts on that comment following last night's game, former Manchester United forward Ronaldo said: "I like to do my talking on the pitch. What happens off it doesn't affect me. I aim to help Real Madrid to achieve its objectives and what happens away from there does not hurt me."

Regarding the victory, he said: "The team is getting better all the time. It was the most important game of pre-season and it was against a very strong opponent."

Mourinho, meanwhile, was also asked about his recent comments about Ronaldo following the match.

He said: "Cristiano is your movie, it's not my movie. Just to identify the person, I just said the 'true Ronaldo' in relation to the Brazilian one.

"If somebody asks me 'Thomas Muller or Gerd Muller', for me the real one is Gerd Muller because he's the first one. And I'm not saying anything against the new kid in Bayern, so that's your movie and Real Madrid were last week in the movie city (Los Angeles), so maybe it's one more movie, but it's not my problem."

Mourinho added of Ronaldo: "He's a great player and has scored goals all his life. When he scores it's not big news, when he doesn't it is."
