Robbie clears way for Andorra
ROBBIE KEane has eased fears that he could be too tired to take on Andorra by bailing out of LA Galaxy's meaningless MSL tussle in New York next week.
While his Galaxy team-mates travel to New York for a rescheduled fixture against Red Bull, Keane will head for Giovanni Trapattoni's team base in Portmarnock to take a full part in preparations for the Euro 2012 double-header against Andorra and Armenia.
The FAI could have invoked FIFA's five-day rule to make sure that Ireland's captain turned up on time but Trapattoni chose a more considered approach.
The Ireland boss claimed that he was happy with whatever decision Keane made but suggested that he might be dropped if, as planned, he played against Red Bull and linked up with the Irish squad just 24 hours before the Andorra game.
Now, any possible conflict between manager and captain has been removed by the news that Keane will clock in next Monday, which will allow him four days to recover from jet lag.
