Ramsey handed Rs post
Caretaker QPR boss Chris Ramsey will be appointed QPR manager until the end of the season.
Ramsey was placed in temporary charge following Harry Redknapp's resignation last week and he led Rangers to their first away points of the campaign with a 2-0 win at Sunderland on Tuesday night.
QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has been suitably impressed to hand Ramsey the reins until the summer, when the situation is likely to be reviewed. Fernandes said on Tuesday he was close to securing his "dream manager" but it is not clear if he was referring to Ramsey or another long-term successor.
Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood had been widely expected to fill the vacancy while Derby manager Steve McClaren and Real Madrid assistant Paul Clement were also linked with the post.
Rangers midfielder Joey Barton tweeted his support of Ramsey: "Good news also on Chris Ramsey. V good since he has come in."
