Ramsey hails new Gunners
GUNNERS midfielder Aaron Ramsey is looking forward to working with Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun after the midfield duo joined Arsenal late on transfer deadline day.
Arteta and loanee Benayoun signed from Everton and Chelsea respectively and will add some much-needed depth to an Arsenal midfield that has been hit by the sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, plus a series of injuries and suspensions.
And Ramsey hopes the reinforcements can get the north London club back on track.
He said: "They are both great players with plenty of Premier League experience. They are two players who have great qualities and hopefully they can bring something to the team.
"So far we have struggled with injuries so it is much better to have players in ready to play and to have that competition to keep you on top of your game."
Kearns poised for Posh debut
PETERBOROUGH United boss Darren Ferguson has promised to give new signing Daniel Kearns his debut in a friendly on Monday night.
Ireland U21 cap Kearns completed his move from Dundalk to Peterborough earlier this week and Ferguson is happy with his purchase.
"Daniel is a very good player. He is intelligent on the ball and has a lot of potential," said Ferguson.
"I have seen him play quite a bit and I am delighted to get him in."
Cowan moves to Stevenage
LONGFORD Town striker Don Cowan has earned a move to England after signing a last-minute deal with Stevenage.
Dubliner Cowan, who has scored 10 goals for Longford this season, cut his teeth with Shamrock Rovers but has shown real potential with Longford and Stevenage boss Graham Westley snapped up the 21-year-old after a short trial.
