Uwe Rosler says he's delighted to have brought Ireland U21 star Kevin O'Connor to Fleetwood Town on loan.

Wexford man O'Connor joined Preston from Cork City in the summer but has been unable to force his way into the side and a spell on loan, until the end of the season, to League One side Fleetwood will offer him game time.

"Kevin is very talented, he has a great left foot and brings everything we want into the team. We've been monitoring him for a while now and are delighted to have him at Fleetwood Town," said manager Rosler.

Meanwhile, Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy expects to lose Ireland striker David McGoldrick before the transfer window closes.

McGoldrick (30) is out of contract in the summer and Ipswich can raise funds by selling him this month, Cardiff City likely to make a bid.
