'Pogba wants to see Mourinho's plan' says agent
Jose Mourinho will need to present Paul Pogba with the chance to be part of a 'project' at Manchester United if he wants to convince the midfielder to leave Juventus, according to his agent.
Mino Raiola has revealed he wanted the 23-year-old to link up with Mourinho at Chelsea last summer only for the Frenchman to decide to extend his stay in Italy.
Pogba has the chance to move to Old Trafford this summer with United keen to make their former player Mourinho's fourth summer signing. Spanish media reported yesterday that Pogba is open to the idea of a return to his former club with Real Madrid second on his list of preferred destinations.
But Raiola insists United must offer a compelling argument for his client to leave Serie A.
He said: "Last year, when the bid came in, I really wanted him to go to Chelsea. It didn't happen but this year we will see.
"Juve do not want to sell him and there is a chance for us to talk about a new contract. He feels no need to leave. But if you come with a project that will make Paul want to leave, we'll talk with the club."
Meanwhile, United's pre-season tour of China this month will give the players an opportunity to forge a close bond, manager Mourinho has said. United's first game under Mourinho will be against last season's Bundesliga runners-up Dortmund in the International Champions Cup in Shanghai on July 22.
The 53-year-old Portuguese manager will also renew hostilities with old adversary Pep Guardiola, as City's manager, on June 25. "I hope to see a group coming together and getting to know each other better and understanding each other better," Mourinho said.
