Paul Pogba sent out a defiant message to Jose Mourinho with a sensational display for France yesterday.

The Manchester United midfielder scored and assisted as Les Bleus ran out 3-1 winners over World Cup hosts Russia in an international friendly.

Pogba smashed in a superb free-kick shortly after half-time, while setting up Kylian Mbappe to open the scoring before the break.

It was an emphatic response from the under-fire Frenchman, who has been dropped recently by Mourinho.

However the midfielder looked to have his swagger back as he curled a 25-yard free-kick expertly over the wall and into the bottom left corner.

Pogba is reported to be a summer transfer target for both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, with United looking to 'recoup a chunk' of his original £89m transfer fee.

United are considering a number of potential swap-deals and are believed to have short-listed Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, as well as Marco Verratti and Marquinhos from PSG.
