Pat's pip Town to Leinster glory

A youthful St Pat's selection dominated last night's Leinster Senior Cup final against First Division Longford Town at City Calling Stadium to win 2-1.

Well-taken goals from Sam Verdon and Jack Bailey helped the visitors to their eighth Leinster Cup title. The midlanders were forced to feed off scraps but threatened on the counter attack.

The visitors had chances and finally took the lead 11 minutes before the interval through Verdon.

The Town grabbed an equaliser after the restart following keeper Pat Jennings' fumble and Tom Morris was on hand to slot home.

Pat's quickly restored order and grabbed the winning goal when Bailey toe-poked the ball home.
