Pandev: We're going to beat you this time

INTER MILAN star Goran Pandev has promised more Macedonian misery for Ireland in Skopje on Saturday night.

Giovanni Trapattoni's squad trained in Dublin this morning before boarding a lunchtime flight to Skopje for that vital Euro 2012 qualifier.

Ireland have a good away record in competitive games, the Republic unbeaten in nine competitive matches away from home under Trapattoni.

But Ireland have endured pain in Skopje before with a defeat (1997) and a painful draw (1999) which stopped the Republic from going to the Euro 2000 finals.

And striker Pandev, has vowed to inflict another defeat on the Irish on Saturday, when Macedonia unveil their revamped stadium for the first time, with tickets on sale for as little as €2 here.

"We have started the qualifiers poorly, so this match is the last chance for us," Pandev said today

"We played a terrific match in Dublin, but we didn't have luck. Ahead of us is another tough match, but this time I do believe that we can defeat the Irish.

"This match is a crucial one for us. We will play at a newly opened stadium and against a high-class opponent. All of this is extra motivation for us to play at a high level and achieve the victory," added Pandev.
