Our Euro rivals Spain and Italy touch down in Poland

IRELAND'S Euro 2012 rivals Spain and Italy have now touched down in Poland.

The Spanish squad was greeted enthusiastically by hundreds of locals when they arrived at their base in the village of Gniewino -- an hour outside the northern Polish city of Gdansk.

A 50-strong children's choir was on hand to welcome the team, while some of the players were also bizarrely given a local pie as a welcome gift. (left)

The scandal-hit Italian team, which has been embroiled in a corruption investigation, also arrived in Poland last night. (right)

There was a much lower- key welcome for them at their Krakow base.

Ireland will play Spain in Gdansk on June 14 and then Italy in their final group game on June 18 in Poznan.
