With the LSL Intermediate squad in the process of defending their Inter-Provincial crown in Tullamore this weekend, the Senior Division programme is slimmed down to one game.
Still, that one game will have a huge bearing on what goes on at the top of the table as league leaders, Cherry Orchard, take on a Phoenix side that has the summit in their sights.
The Orchard currently occupy top spot despite a run of three defeats in their last four games.
Paul Doyle's side is level on points with Bluebell United, but have the better goal difference while St Pat's CY, who defeated the Orchard last weekend, and Crumlin United, both idle this weekend, sit just a single point off the leaders.
Just behind the top four sit Phoenix. The Nix have been quietly going about their business this season and can rise to the summit with a victory at Elm Dale in the morning, in what is their first away game in five.
The Nix started the season in positive fashion. They picked up seven points from their first three games before suffering their only defeat of their campaign so far against Crumlin at the start of the month.
The Northsiders reacted perfectly to that defeat as they thumped Wayside Celtic 4-0 and then pushed on to get the better of an improving Firhouse Clover side last weekend, coming out on top by 2-0.
Phoenix have netted 10 times in their opening half dozen games, but it is in defence where they have excelled this season. Harry Kenny's side has only conceded twice so far this term and kept four clean sheets along the way.
It is that water tight defence that has brought the Nix to within touching distance of the summit, if they continue to show that mean streak it could lead them onto greater things.
CHERRY ORCHARD v PHOENIX
With the Orchard so far this season it's either one way, win, or the other, lose, with nothing in between.
The Ballyfermot outfit has won five and lost three, but have yet to be involved in a draw.
The Nix know a win will send them to the top, but, with two games in hand on the front runners, they know a draw is not the end of the world and getting anything out of Elm Dale is usually hard won.
