Gary Neville believes Axel Tuanzebe's full Manchester United debut at Arsenal was all the more impressive because of the quality of opposition he faced.

Tuanzebe (19) is a centre half by trade but started at right-back after Jose Mourinho decided to rest Antonio Valencia, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah is out injured and the right-footed Matteo Darmian lined up at left-back.

Neville, himself a former right-back, felt the magnitude of playing at Arsenal and directly against Sanchez made Tuanzebe's debut particularly positive.

"I thought he was very good. I'm always nervous for any young player coming through," he said.

"You've always got to look after any young kid, especially when he comes into a team. It was tough, and you think that Tuanzebe was up against Alexis Sanchez, who is a world-class player, at a difficult stadium to play at.

"He was fantastic from the first to the 90th minute. He can be proud. He was United's big plus."
