David Moyes remains desperate to add to his injury-hit West Ham squad before tomorrow's transfer deadline.

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and Russian striker Fedor Smolov are the latest names linked with moves to the London Stadium.

The need for new faces has been exacerbated by Arthur Masuaku's six-match ban for spitting and a knee injury suffered by Pedro Obiang during Saturday's FA Cup humiliation at Wigan, as well as Diafra Sakho completing his move to French club Rennes.

Moyes was already missing 11 senior players through injury at the DW Stadium and will have to patch up his side to face relegation rivals Crystal Palace tonight.

The Hammers boss said: "We had priorities and we still have. The priory is to add good players to your squad, but you don't want to add players who are just going to make the numbers up and sound good. "Ultimately we are short of players right now so we could do with adding to it but I am not going to bring in anyone that won't help the team, it's a waste of money and time.

"We want to bring people in who can contribute between now and the end of the season, if not longer." Striker Andre Ayew remains a target for his former club Swansea but West Ham are holding out for a higher offer. "Could anyone else leave? Possibly," added Moyes.

"We have had offers from clubs and whether those offers improve then it might make things (happen) but other than that, we are getting to the end of the window and we'll be glad when it's over."

Wing-back Masuaku apologised for his actions at Wigan and will be fined by the club.

Moyes said: "I spoke with him yesterday in the office and he was sad about the whole thing and we were sad too because he cost us.

"He was really remorseful, he said, 'I've never done it before, never been sent off before', so he was really down about the whole thing and rightly so."
