McGeady no show a worry for O'Neill
The form of Aiden McGeady is again a concern for Martin O'Neill as the Ireland winger didn't even make the Sheffield Wednesday squad for last night's clash with Brighton.
On loan from Everton, McGeady was substituted at half-time in the Owls' defeat last weekend, boss Carlos Carvalhal admitting that the change was for tactical and not fitness reasons, and as O'Neill prepares to name his squad later this week for the friendly internationals, it will be a worry that McGeady's loan move has not gone to plan, while Richie Towell was again omitted from the Seagulls squad for last night's 0-0 draw.
Daryl Murphy wasn't fit to feature for Ipswich Town but should return to action next weekend for Mick McCarthy's side, who had to settle for a 2-2 draw away to Bolton. Stephen Ward's Burnley go four points clear at the top thanks to their win away to Fulham, while Matt Doherty scored the key goal for Wolves in a 2-1 win away to Bristol City.
It was a bad night for Reading as the Royals, missing the injured Paul McShane, lost 3-1 to Huddersfield Town though Ireland youth cap Josh Barrett (17) made his first-team debut for Brian McDermott's side.
