McGeady is super-sub for Spartak
AIDEN McGEADY had to settle for a substitute's role as the Russian league season kicked back into gear again last night.
But the Ireland international played a crucial role as Spartak Moscow came from a goal behind to draw 1-1 away to Rubin Kazan. McGeady started the game on the bench but was introduced in the 65th minute as Spartak were a goal down and claimed an assist as Spartak equalised on 80 minutes.
The Russian league, in hibernation since November, has now resumed, and with 11 games left in the campaign, which finishes in May, Spartak are fourth in the table, eight points behind leaders Zenit St Petersburg.
