McGeady: Irish squad is 'jaded'
AIDEN McGeady has blamed last night's lacklustre display against the Hungarians in Budapest on fatigue.
The Spartak Moscow winger said Ireland had suffered tiredness from weeks of intensive training and believes the squad must recharge their batteries before this Sunday's crucial Group C clash with Croatia.
"Training has been of such a high intensity that I think a lot of the players were quite jaded tonight," he said.
"A lot of players were saying that at half time they were fairly sluggish on their feet. I think that was the overwhelming factor in the first half.
"In the second half, we picked it up a bit but I think we need to take it easy in training (this week)."
