MARTIN O'Neill will demand 100% effort and commitment in Tbilisi tomorrow when Ireland's journey to France 2016 begins against Georgia.

"This is it, this is competitive football. Every game, every minute of these games is very important for us. We've got to compete the whole way through," he said.

O'Neill is clearly worried about the conditions in Georgia. The thermometer was in the low 30s today but it is expected to drop back by ten degrees for kick-off time.

"I would imagine if it's going to be hot as they say it is then you might have to make obvious adjustments. It is played in the evening time but temperatures might still be up.

"It can still remain pretty hot in evening time. All of those things will bear some consideration when we come to Sunday.

"I said the other day, we have to be mentally and physically prepared for the game. The physical aspect we saw against Oman. Some players wilted. The matches are not easy for us.

"You see yourself what sort of talent we have here. It's to get every single ounce out of the players," added O'Neill.
