Maguire out to stake claim for play-offs
A fit-again Sean Maguire says he will keep his focus on club football before he reports for duty for Ireland's World Cup battle with Denmark.
Maguire, who made his senior debut against Moldova, missed Preston's league game last weekend with a hamstring injury but should return today against Brentford as he tries to stay in the frame for the play-offs.
"It would be great for the country, the players, the staff and the fans to get to the World Cup and we are only two games away from that," says Maguire.
"I just need to concentrate and be focused, I have a job to do at Preston, without looking too far ahead with the international set-up.
"I need to keep performing well to the standard that I feel I should be performing and helping the team.
"That's by working hard, creating goals, making assists and obviously scoring the goals. That's what I will be looking to do in these upcoming games and try and catch the eye of the manager - and do what I do best and that's scoring goals."
