Madden put in place

YEOVIL TOWN boss Gary Johnson has told Ireland striker Paddy Madden to get over his disappointment at his lack of game-time with the Glovers this season.

Madden was the division's top scorer last season as his goals helped Yeovil win promotion to the Championship but this season has been a struggle for the former Bohemians man who has yet to score in 10 games for Yeovil.

The 23-year-old was restored to the side for a league game against Wigan two weeks ago but was left on the bench for their last game, Friday's loss to Doncaster, and manager Johnson defended his decision to omit the Ireland international.

"I just didn't feel he's got his game back yet. He gets a bit disappointed with me, himself, whoever he gets disappointed with it affects himself as a personality let alone a footballer," says Johnson. "If he doesn't play he gets even more disappointed. He's got to live with it. He's at a level where there's competition and if he deserves to be in he will be in, like everybody else in the squad."
