Mac -- Doyle can do it at the top

KEVIN Doyle is odds on for a move to the top of the Premier League, according to Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, and there isn't much he can do about it.

McCarthy has been singing Doyle's praises since he bought him from Reading in July 2009, even if his running total in the scoring chart is less than impressive.

But McCarthy clearly knows that Doyle is being tracked and by the looks of things, by clubs with Champions League football on their mind rather than a relegation battle.

"If we go down, we have no chance of holding on to him. If we stay up, we might still have a problem because there will be a few interested," said a philosophical McCarthy.

"We have seen all the teams now and I've not noticed many better players than him. I'm not doing a selling job, saying that, because I'm not telling other managers anything they don't know.

"He would not be out of place in the company of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea," claimed McCarthy.
