Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert turns down late move to Villa
Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert has turned down a move to Aston Villa.
Villa, who are looking for a new forward to bolster their underperforming front line, are believed to have offered £5million for the England international.
Lambert, 32, has struggled to make an impact since joining his boyhood club last summer but does not appear prepared to give up his Anfield career for Villa Park.
Zaha flies to Eagles
Wilfried Zaha's ill-fated spell at Manchester United is over, with the 22-year-old rejoining Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.
Two years ago the winger's outstanding displays in south London led United to come calling, paying a fee which could have reached up to £15million.
However, Zaha has spent much of that time on loan and has left Old Trafford after just four appearances to rejoin the Eagles for an undisclosed fee, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract.
Djuricic at Saints
Southampton completed their second loan deal of the transfer window when Serbia's Filip Djuricic joined the Premier League high-flyers from Benfica.
Manager Ronald Koeman will hope the 23-year-old attacking midfielder has a similar impact to Eljero Elia who was signed on loan from Werder Bremen last month and has already made his mark at Southampton.
Huth goes to Foxes
Leicester have signed Robert Huth on loan from Stoke until the end of the season. The defender has fallen out of favour at the Britannia Stadium after injury problems and will add significant Premier League experience to Leicester's back line.
Ince leaves Hull
Derby have signed winger Tom Ince on loan from Hull for the rest of the season. The 23-year-old has made just nine appearances for the Tigers, scoring once, and spent a brief loan spell with the Rams' bitter rivals Nottingham Forest earlier this season.
Tottenham have released Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The Cameroon international made over 150 appearances for Spurs but has not featured since the 2012-13 season.
