Liam plans PAOK rescue mission
LIAM LAWRENCE will try to salvage his Champions League dream in Ukraine tonight.
The former Ireland winger last season helped Greek side PAOK qualify for the Champions League preliminary round and he signed a new contract with the club in the summer.
But Lawrence was left on the bench as PAOK had a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie last week.
Lawrence hopes to force his way into the plans of Dutch manager Huub Stevens for tonight's second leg in Ukraine as PAOK need a big win to make it into the play-off round of the Champions League.
Darren O'Dea is also facing an anxious few days in Europe.
He was substituted in the first half for Metalurh Donetsk as they went down 2-0 to Albanian outfit Kukes in the Europa League third round first leg tie last week and the defender was on the bench for last weekend's league game.
