SPORTS Minister Leo Varadkar joined the thousands of Irish partying in Poznan last night.
The Dublin TD was mobbed by soccer fans as he enjoyed a drink in the city's main square.
And the dressed-down politician told the Herald that the Irish supporters are making diplomatic headlines across the world.
"Everybody is saying that the fans are the story of the tournament, even all the Polish people," he said. "I've been talking to some of the Polish business people at the honourary consulate and they have been really impressed by the Irish fans.
"Let's hope the team can now put on a similar performance. There is still a chance to let us go home with some honour."
