Lee Kaz' a big chance says Coyle
WIGAN boss Owen Coyle has praised Lee Nicholls for making the most of the opportunity that has come his way as the 21-year-old goalkeeper prepares to face Rubin Kazan tonight in only his fifth senior Latics appearance.
Nicholls has had various loan spells away from the Championship club, with the most recent one seeing him spend the whole of the 2012-13 campaign at League Two side Northampton.
He made his senior Wigan debut this term in the League Cup and has featured in their last three Championship matches after Scott Carson picked up an ankle injury.
With Carson still sidelined and fellow Latics stopper Ali Al-Habsi not part of Coyle's Europa League squad – he is also injured – Nicholls is now set to make his European debut at Rubin's Central Stadium.
"He's a kid who has the opportunity to have a fantastic career," Coyle said. "It will be a test for him, but he'll be up for it."
