NORWICH City boss Paul Lambert has backed his Irish trio for a call-up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad.
The Canaries have enjoyed their season of Premier League football so far, and some of that success is down to Wes Hoolahan, Anthony Pilkington and Marc Tierney.
Hoolahan is known to Giovanni Trapattoni, as Trap gave him his senior debut against Colombia in 2008, though the ex-Shelbourne man has not been picked since.
Midfielder Pilkington has also worn the green shirt before, winning a solitary U21 cap against Lithuania in 2008, while left-back Tierney is also eligible.
"They are meant to be looking at them and quite rightly so," said Lambert.
"Listen, that is up to the Republic of Ireland manager -- it is his prerogative -- but those three are playing really well."
