Noel King has told his Ireland U21 side to keep up their high standards so the side can stay in the chase for a first-ever qualification for the European Championship finals.

The Irish U21s have had a perfect start to their qualifying campaign for Euro 2019, wins over Andorra and Azerbaijan.

That record will be tested in home qualifiers, in Tallaght Stadium, against Norway (next Thursday) and Israel (Monday week) but King has asked the squad to deliver, after naming a 24-man panel which includes four home-based players (Ryan Delaney, Rory Hale, Trevor Clarke and Ronan Curtis).

"The squad have shown real promise in our first two matches," said King. "The challenge now is to keep those standards high and keep improving through what will be two difficult games."
