NOEL KING has set a target of six points from the next two games if the Ireland U21 side are to have a chance of European Championship qualification.

Ireland play the Faroe Islands on Friday (3.45pm) and then take on Montenegro away the following Tuesday, and King feels that back to back wins is needed after the U21s picked up just one point from the last three qualifiers.

"If we win the next two games we would go second in the table and we'd have a good chance of qualification, but it's a big ask," says King, who today picked his squad for the two games. "But we have a strong squad here for the two games and it will be a job for me to pick an eleven."

Ireland U21 squad: McCarey (Wolves), McDermott (Sandnes Ulf), Doherty (Wolves), Harriman (Gillingham), Duffy (Yeovil), McGinty (Sheffield U), Williams (Bristol C), O'Connor (Torquay), Dunne (Wycombe). O'Sullivan (Blackburn), Shaughnessy (Aberdeen), Reilly (Birmingham), Forde (Wolves), Murray (Watford), Carruthers (MK Dons), Grealish (Notts Co). O'Brien (Millwall), Hayhurst (Preston), Smith (Watford).
